Cabalito's History

Cabalito was bred by Heinrich Heemke in Germany.  He was presented for his Hanoverian breeding license at age 2 1/2 to the licensing commission in Verden.  At this time, Cabalito was selected by the State Stud in Celle.  This is considered a great honor, as of the thousands of colts that are born each year, only a few and select best are licensed, and only about 10 of these are selected to stand at the state stud.

From here Cabalito made the short trip to Adelheidsdorf where he participated in the 11 month state performance test, culminating with the final 100 day test.   Cabalito completed the difficult testing with flying colors, finishing in the top half of his class.  He received 8’s in willingness to work, overall capacity to work, walk and trot.  As testament to his soundness, Cabalito performed the entire 11 month test barefoot.

Cabalito is one of the few licensed sons of the very elegant and popular Hanoverian State Stud Cordoba. These are new bloodlines to be introduced to the US  that are known in Germany for producing horses of excellent character and ridability.  Cabalito also has a fantastic dam line that through his grand-dam, Dompoesie, has produced the exceptional stallions Weltmeyer, Wanderbusch I & II, Don Carlos and many other renown performance horses.  You will see many other famous stallions in his pedigree including Cavalier, Bolero, Absatz and Dominik.

Upon import to the US, Cabalito was one of the few stallions  approved for breeding by the Oldenburg Verband during their 2001 summer tour.

Cabalito offers an extremely easy and tractable temperament and is handled and ridden daily by an amateur rider. He was selected in great part due to his fantastic attitude! In addition to his outstanding movement and rideability, Cabalito is a fancy and scopey  jumper.

His competitive career in the US has been most promising,  He was Champion stallion and overall Grand Champion three times at breed shows, culminating with the USDF Region 9 Mature Horse Championship. He also received the high score of that show with an impressive 80%.  2001 USDF Horse of the Year awards included a 5th place nationally for 4 year and older stallions in hand and Reserve Champion Hanoverian stallion. Cabalito was started in the hunter ring with great success and has been very well received by both judges, trainers and breeders.  He received top ribbons and many wins in the  pre-greens at  "A" shows including the San Antonio Christmas Show, Great Southwest (Houston) and the High Prairie Summer Circuit (Colorado). 2003 will bring his debut in the First Year Greens.

Cabaltio’s fist foal crop started arriving in February 2002 and they couldn't be any better!  The foals have all been stamped with his beautiful expression, well set on necks and correct foundations.  They are all displaying his graceful and elegant movement with superb temperaments. As his foal are now entering the show arena, they are proving to outstanding show horses. Cabalito is making his mark as an outstanding sire!

Cabalito now resides at Marsh Pond Farm in Wellington, Florida. He will continue his show career with Marsh Pond Farm and will continue  to be available for breeding.  Look for Cabalilto at many of the major shows across the nation.
